• Where's Your Sign?

  Many of us have a favorite team or as much as I hate to bring this up right now a favorite candidate for the multitude of offices up for election in November.  How much time is spent time talking about “our” team or “our” candidate? To be honest with you I spend a great deal of time cheering for the Carolina Tarheels or the UNCW Seahawks. I spend even more talking trash about rivals such as Duke (Puke), ECU (EC Who, sorry Mom), Kentucky (self explanatory), and the multitude of other schools who get in the way of a National Championship.  Others I know, talk about their favorite NASCAR driver, (Gordon, Johnson, etc.) or about there favorite football team such as Dallas (why?), the Panthers (my fav.), or the Redskins (my #2). We spend so much time promoting our teams that we as Christians often overlook what we are supposed to be promoting. Many Christians rarely speak of Jesus as our “man” or our “favorite” of how about our Saviour. We as Christians claim to be on the winning team but how do we promote Him or His word outside of church. Many do not. Christ isn’t only in the Church but in us as well.  What do we show the world?  I am not talking about just our speech but our actions as well. Do we love our neighbors? Do we even love ourselves? I am not just talking verbal testimony or witness but acting as Christ would have us act.  It is so easy to take a moment to assess our lives and those around us. A moment of compassion can change someone life. A lifetime of compassion can change the world. Who do you support?

   

   

  For those of you who regularly read this, I want to thank each of you for your support over the last few weeks. For those who do not, the past few weeks have been trying not only for me but my family as well. I lost not only my job but my Pop Pop (grandfather) and a dear friend (Palani) in the last three weeks.  Despite the devastation there has been good news as well. Ronnie is doing better and seems to be improving every day.
