A Deeper Shade of Blue
A Deeper Shade of Blue
It has been a great while since I have written here (or anywhere else). It seems every time I had free time something would come up or pure laziness prevented me from taking the time to put my thoughts down. Christmas has come and gone and a new year has crept up on us again. We have out first African American president and it seems there is always some new gadget “or toy” that tempts us each time we go shopping. We had our first significant snow in four years and most of the kids managed to get a whole week off from school (holiday, snow days, and teacher’s work days).
As for me, I am still unemployed, my love life is more confusing than ever and I keep getting these mysterious cases of Wii Shoulder and Elbow. Other than the previous everything else is a blessing, in my life. My corps has made some effort to reinvest in our youth. My mom tries her best to keep me in high spirits as well as an open ear for all my woes. Love ya mom! Also have the beginnings of a Men’s Fellowship/ Bible Study in Pamlico County.
Prayers concern for our Missionaries:
Capt. Tanya Dooley: sinus surgery in a few weeks
The Tidman’s: funding, had several thing stolen from both the corps and corps vehicle,
personal safety (someone tried to steal Major Vic’s backpack with laptop on his way home. Investigators of all incidents blamed the Tidman’s and Salvation Army for being too nice and leaving themselves open for attacks.
General Prayer Concerns:
Youth everywhere but especially my corps kids.
Guidance: direction for future and finances
President Obama: Pray that God is with him in all that he does.
My friend Craig who has several prayer concerns
My God-niece Lindsey
All my fellow unemployed workers

Hello Steve,
You made your site so simple yet elegant. I see that you need to find a job. We all do! That’s the kind of world that we live in now, a world where we need jobs just to survive and all the good ones are already taken or being outsourced. Fortunately, it isn’t going to stay this way much longer!
I want to help people to really get to know Jehovah God, especially in these troubled times. The Bible contains many important messages for us such as: "...The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you." (1Thessalonians 4:6) (NIV)
